I found this illustration about morality that I think applies to my subject, it shows a man having an eye test using glasses that allow him to see what is right or wrong. I think it works as an illustration of the simplification we use throughout our everyday lives to help us process information and understand the world around us. I would like to create images similar to this in my journal to explore the way that empathy and the just world hypothesis effect our view of the world around us. Lenses we use to help us decide what is right or wrong and encourage us to act in a positive way even if they are based on an unrealistic view of society and human nature. The idea of using glasses or an aperture is something I have already experimented with, I think it is a powerful way to show how we use a variety of methods and influences to filter or focus our view of our surroundings in order to help us make sense our world.
