I added a few more paragraphs to my essay. I noticed that I had only connected my research to my practice later in the essay and had not explained my reasons for concentrating on fiction as a form of escapism. I think the essay is much easier to understand now and ties in all my research in a more coherent focussed way. I also noticed that I had only mentioned compassion as an alternative to empathy very briefly without addressing how practitioners could attempt to promote it through their work. I think this is because there is no obvious way to remove fictions expansion of empathy but I thought it was important to try and address the issue as best I could based on my research.
