I started making some posters out of my characters trying to find different ways to single out one of the characters and draw the viewers attention towards it. I want to represent the way we feel empathy towards one person we have a connection with over a large number of people we have no connection with. I started out experimenting with colour and adding name badges.
I found that at this scale the characters were not emotive enough to clearly illustrate the feelings of the character. The colours were really a clear way to show the connection between the viewer and character. I started experimenting with different characters in my journal which led me to think about repeat pattern fabrics. I think this design could work well as fabric design if the characters were shape based and I started thinking more about colour.
