I thought about how empathy alters our view of the world around us and decided that I could use pixilation to demonstrate focussing on one person and blurring the view of large numbers of people. I think this works much better, at first they all look the same until you notice the one clear character in the middle of the group that stand out clearly. I still think the character needs work to better convey the sadness I am trying to communicate. I have been working a lot on children's books recently and have been trying to create characters that clearly and effectively convey emotion, this process has helped me to explore this process.
